Electro-Brazing Fixture
A typical set-up for electrobrazing is shown here. Hard carbon blocks are attached to the upper and lower electrodes of the press welder. Between the carbons are the pieces of copper to be joined. In the joint is a sheet of inch brazing alloy. A thin coating of flux is added just before the parts are placed in this position, pressure is applied by the air cylinders and the current is applied. The carbon block quickly become red and the heat is transferred to the copper parts. These rise in temperature very rapidly. The flux is seen toe melt and shortly thereafter the brazing alloy melts.
