Education System in Finland: The Frame of Open Higher Education
Open Universities Mostly publicly funded based on results (MinEdu) study fees max 15 e / 1 ECTS cr 14 Universities + 25 UAS’s Integral parts of universities Studies follow the curricula of degree programmes Non-degree granting, but credits earned can contribute to University degree or upgrade your qualifications. The objective is to offer everyone opportunities to develop their competences, to raise their level of education and to receive retraining - regardless of education and age. Examples of courses in the portfolio: Globalisation and Corporate Responsibility (5 ECTS) Hazardous Materials Sustainable Management Water and Waste Water Treatment and Utilization (5 ECTS) Climate Change and Air Pollution Forest Energy Joint effort of Finnish open universities and universities of applied sciences Aim is to serve business & entrepreneurs to improve their skills smoothly on the side of everyday work Portfolio of open university on-line courses covering all sectors of bioeconomy Obligatory course “Perspectives on Bioeconomy” (2 ECTS)

Let’s do education together and create new agile networks!
Let’s think together how to improve entrepreneur competences by using flexible methodologies and pedagogies We will work in small groups of 4-5 persons Groups will have 12 minutes time for brainstorming new products for working-life oriented higher education After brainstorming, pitch your idea in 2 minutes Let you imagination fly, don't be too critical When you pitch your idea, we would like to hear: What is the name of the new module you have built? Why is your competence module absolutely needed in working life? What is the target group? Which parts does the competence module consist of? Can you provide them or do you need a broader network? (How will you reach the target group? (marketing)) (How are the studies implemented?) Finally: exchange s and continue the good work in your newborn network!
