What happens 7 Mrs Birling, Sheila and Eric exit Birling and Gerald Croft In an attempt to impress the absent Lady Croft, Mr. Birling tells Gerald of his hopes of receiving a knighthood. 9 Eric Enters Birling, Gerald and Eric The banter and chat continues; women and clothes, ‘laddish’ behaviour, Eric’s ‘slip’ the generational differences, Birling’s speech about community.
