textiles During the Textile Industry, great advancements were made in technology, machinery, and power sources. Throughout this time child labour took place in the factories for the manufacturing of products. The main machines invented were the Flying Machine, Spinning Jenny, Water Frame, Mule, and the Steam Engine. All of these inventions helped do they’re part in changing the way humans manufactured clothing, cloth, and other materials.

Flying shuttle The flying shuttle was invented by john kay. The objective of the shuttle was to make the process of weaving a lot faster. There were two types of flying shuttles, small and large loom. the Flying Shuttle large looms were much more efficient and only had to be operated by one person. This meant that factories now could zoom through different weaving projects... all that was needed now would be faster way to spin thread... introducing the Spinning Jenny!
4
Spinning jenny By the crank of a wheel, one person could spin yarn for many, as multiple threads were spun at a time. This brilliant invention by James Hargreaves, the Spinning Jenny, brought joy to all in the factory business because now that more thread could be spun, the flying shuttle came into great use. The invention of the spinning jenny equaled out the workload once again between spinning thread, and weaving final products.
5
Water frame The Water Frame invented by Richard Arkwright was a new way of spinning yarn, using rollers. This machine improved the strength of yarn being spun and was much faster then the Jenny. Once again this time it being the Water Frame helped the flying machine by producing more thread to spin.
6
Mule The mule was created by simply taking the best characteristics from the water frame and spinning jenny then combining the two. The mule was created by Samuel Crompton. This machine like the other two has helped the flying machine by producing more thread. +
7
Steam engine The steam engine first created by Thomas Newcomen. His design was used to pump water out of mines. However, when James Watt innovated the machine, he created something of much more potential. Watts new machine was used to collect an efficient source of power to run other machines in factories. This machine helped the flying machine, spinning jenny, water frame, mule, and much more machines because now everything could run of compressed gas instead of hand work.

factories Factories was probably the most or one of the most important part of the textile industry. These extremely large, multiple floored work houses contained all the machines needed for the process of manufacturing cloth. Factories benefited all the machines it contained because the machines needed a strong supply of energy that would not run out anytime soon, and the factories either had a source of water, or steam energy.
