The Cold War During the Suez Crisis our Prime Minister Lester B Pearson won the Nobel Peace Prize The Soviet Union launched their first satellite called “Sputnik” The west launched their first satellite called Telstar

Very little Canadian arts and culture….most of it was from the U.S.A. The first highway was built to take people from one end of the country to the other The government began to close residential schools for Native children Native People were now considered Canadian citizens The Bill of Rights was created
