One of the most criticised units within the HN Administration and Information Technology framework

3. Need for change? Many centres felt the unit was over assessed.
ASP cumbersome.
Excessive use of remediation and re-assessment.

4. New Unit Specification
Outcomes
Design and create a spreadsheet to meet the needs of a business.
Apply statistical functions and present information in an appropriate format.
Present spreadsheet data in graphical format and evaluate information.

5. Changes
Outcome 1 – introduction of wide range of functions as possibility for assessment rather than 2 mandatory functions.
Outcomes 2 and 3 – swapped.
Allows learner to evaluate the whole assessment rather than just the charts .

6. Assessment
Holistic understanding of why functions are used to solve complex problems.
Fewer instructions to learners leading to more use of problem solving.
