What did the South want to do in response to the Tariff? What did the South call the tariff? What did Jackson do in response to the South? What did Jackson do to Native Americans? How were they impacted? What political party was started to oppose Jackson? What invention led to the increased dependence on slaves in the South?

As we all know… The Cotton Gin led to an increased dependence on slavery in the South

4 Slave Revolts Due to mistreatment, slaves attempted several slave revolts After the Haitian Revolution which was led by slaves, many slaves in the United States were inspired to do the same thing.

7 Slave Revolts Despite these revolts and rebellions, they were suppressed Greatly angered white slaveowners which led them to defend slavery and control their slaves even more.

11 Slave Narrative Write a 1 page journal entry as if you were a slave in the American South. Be sure to include details about yourself such as what your name is, where you are from, where you are located now, etc. Also, remember, it’s a journal entry so its entirely an expression of emotion. Put yourselves in the shoes of a slave. What do you think he would say?
