1 Football Gympie governance

2 Background December 2016 FQ sends external data collector to wide bay zone. Information was collated and sent back to FGI. This was then passed onto the clubs to send to members. New governance model is shown to members. One tier is to be dissolved. Football Gympie would not exist. FGI and clubs decide that the new governance structure won’t work for Gympie. January 2017 FQ allow Gympie to watch from the outside as new structure takes place across the rest of Wide Bay Zone. Wide Bay 2017 structure does not change to new model. Each CA (Bundy, Maryborough and Hervey Bay) operated as before. 2017 Gympie send Wide Bay an requesting meeting to talk about the new structure and what it would mean for Gympie. FGI are still waiting to hear back regarding this . 2017 Gympie send Sunshine Coast an requesting meeting to talk about possible move to the coast. May 2017 Gympie has meeting with Sunshine Coast about possible move and what would be involved. Late 2017 Wide Bay zone meeting grants Gympie 3 years before having to change over to a new structure. We felt this too long. November 2017 Gympie has meeting with Sunshine Coast regarding taking competition to Sunshine Coast.
