The following factors help an audience understand what genre is: Setting/Location Characters Hair/Make-up Facial Expression/Body Language Props Colour Lighting Together, these factors form part of mise-en-scene.

5 High-Key Lighting Romantic films tend to be filmed using high-key lighting to build a happy, safe and calm atmosphere
