Use ariel phots to recognise landmarks and human and physical features. Use fieldwork and observational skills to study the local area.
Children to discuss what they understand by the local area? Generate geographical questions they could find the answers to on the field walk. Include questions about human and physical features.
Map out a route to Eton Park Junior school. Chn to add on features they already know. Use directional vocab, compass, write a key to identify green space, different housing/building and vegetation (science link)
During the field trip collect data using cameras, tally charts and sketched. Collate housing, shops, health care, open splaying spaces.
