Timing of Certification
Big Ten rules stipulate student-athletes shall not become eligible for competition during a term if the student is not academically eligible prior to or on the first day of classes of that term. 11/19/2018
15
Full-Time Status – NCAA
Student-athletes must be enrolled full-time (12 cr.) to be eligible for practice, competition and athletic aid Exceptions: Last term of enrollment before graduation Graduate/Professional program 11/19/2018
16
Full-Time Status College Advisors should NEVER drop a student-athlete (SA) from a class. During weeks please send the SA to their academic counselor in athletics if they want to drop a class. After the 8th week of class a student needs College Approval in order to withdraw from a class. However, a SA still needs to see their academic counselor in athletics prior to withdrawing from the course. 11/19/2018
