Diploma Tracks at Plainfield High School
All students will graduate with one or more of these State of Indiana diplomas: Core 40 All students in the class of 2022 will likely be required to take a Graduation Qualifying Exam in order to graduate with a Plainfield High School diploma. Details on that exam are forthcoming. Core 40 with Academic Honors Core 40 with Technical Honors

Technical honors diploma
47 Total Credits Required Minimum GPA of 2.7 Semester grades of “C-” or higher Complete all Core 40 diploma requirements, plus: Other additional requirements as listed in the Rising Freshmen Pre-Enrollment Packet Earn 6 college credits through dual credit courses Earn 6 high school credits from the state’s approved College and Career Pathway courses OR Earn a State or Industry Approved Certification

Selecting 9th grade english
All freshmen must complete 2 credits of English 9 for next year English F – 1002S English 9 Honors* 1002FH – 1002SH Must have either an “A” in English 8 or a “B” or higher in Adv English 8 Required Summer Reading Students are required to complete 2 English credits each year (grades 9, 10, 11, 12)

World Languages (Must have “C-” or higher in English) French I F – 2020S German I F – 2040S Spanish I F – 2120S Physical Education & Health PE I or Advanced PE I (APE I) or APE I Football PE II or Advanced PE II (APE II) or APE II Football Health *If you are taking PE II in 8th grade, you will only need to take PE I after entering high school.* **If you are a student athlete, the high school VARSITY head coach can only recommend you for Advanced PE I (APE I) and/or Advanced PE II (APE II). The only way to be moved into APE is to sign up for PE at PHS for next year. If you are currently in PE at PCMS and want to be in the weight room all year as a 9th grader, then select PE I and APC. If you are NOT currently in PE at PCMS and want to be in the weight room all year as a 9th grader, then select PE I and PE II.

Summer Course Information
2018 Summer Session: June 5th – July 20th Summer School is FREE! Students can take up to 2 courses* Registration will begin in January ( Students must complete an Online Coursework Approval Form (available in January) AND register on IOA’s website If you FAIL or do not complete the course you will get an ‘F’ on your PHS transcript Many students utilize IOA to earn credit in PE I, PE II, & Health. Students can also repeat courses via IOA in an effort to earn a higher grade!

Scheduling Timeline December 12th -13th High school counselors present to 8th grade students and their parents 8th Grade Parent Night 6:00PM (PHS auditorium) December 12th -21st Mr. Woodson meets individually with 8th grade students to finalize course selections December 15th& 18th High school counselors available for questions during 8th grade lunches December 21st Course selection forms are due to the middle school math teachers January 17th High school counselors facilitate 8th grade students entering course selections into PowerSchool during assigned computer lab sessions April 27th All 9th grade course requests are considered final and no changes can be made
