Groups –using your notes only answer:
1. What attitude did the Roman Government take toward most religions? Early in the Pax Romana how did the “Silver Age of Literature” establish this attitude? Why/how did Judaism and Christianity not fit into the empire? 2. What religious ideas did Jesus teach? Why were they revolutionary? 3. What was Paul’s importance for the development of Christianity? How was he able to be so influential? 4. How was the ground work laid out to allow the spread of ideas in the empire? After about 100 years of Christianity the attitude of Roman leadership changed about the tolerance of Christians, why? What did they do to the Christians?

On Monday be prepared to write a response about the effects of Christianity on Rome
1. Give background (what Rome was like before Christianity) 2. Look at themes, how did Christianity effect Rome? 3. Positive? Negative? What were these effects on the people? Government?
