Perimeters and Area of Polygons
Today I will be able to: use the coordinates of polygons (to compose or decompose polygons) or the known area formulas. So that I can: Find the perimeter and area of regular and irregular figures I will show I know it when I can complete at least 3 real world or mathematical problems independently or with my partner with at least 80% accuracy to form a tic-tac-toe. 6.G.A.3

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of polygons. They will verbally communicate and use the coordinates of polygons to write (compose or decompose) polygons or the known area formulas. They will be able to find the perimeter and area of regular and irregular figures. They will show their understanding when they can at least complete 3 real world or mathematical problems independently or with a partner with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: polygon, compose, decompose, area, perimeter, irregular
