Your assignment 1. Gather all your drawings and gesture assignments.
2. Pick one of your pieces (large paper) to be the ground (the support for adding to, subtracting- do NOT throw away your other pieces, you will need them. 3. Cut out several of your figures and start arranging to create a composition that touches 3 sides of your paper, bringing the eye throughout the piece (movement). 4. Pick a simple palette of analogous colors (family of 4 to add to the composition). You need to know the names of the colors and which family of colors you have selected. 5. Before you glue down any image, we will have a critique, putting up the images and asking is it the best composition? Does it create movement of the eye? Does it touch 3 edges of the paper? (We will use rolled tape to construct for the composition) 6. After the critique: Use matte medium to adhere the figures to the ground (support) and start adding your color choices. With your analogous colors, you get 1 pop of color that is not part of the family of 4. Be smart with your pop of color. 7. Lastly, using mark making techniques (drawing with your whole body, drawing over, metronome, gesture of hand, doodling, add the last layer on top of your piece.

Clean up: You cleaned up after yourself, including the table, the cut parts, the brushes, etc. 5. Composition: The composition touches all 3 edges of the paper. 6. Analogous colors used (family of 4): Know what the are and you get one pop of color. 7. Art element_____________ used and design principle movement/emphasis/proportion used within the artwork.
