A peaceful, tranquil space, with beautiful vistas revealed at every turn. Within the garden are 13 listed structures and an adjacent woodland sculpture trail. The Guardian describes the gardens as ”A miniature world, dotted with follies as absurdly pretty as illustrations in a fairy tale.” Wander at your leisure then if you want, have lunch in the restaurant on site. We then travel on to Kelly Brown’s Garden. The Manor House Garden extends to four and a half acres and has been developed and almost entirely looked after by owners Simon and Kathy Brown over the last thirty years. The June garden is wonderfully explosive as the roses turn from bud to bloom and their scent wafts on the air. They festoon the old walls, the trees and the pergola in the cottage garden; they clamber over two of the arches in the wisteria walk and surround the gazebo just behind. Our visit here includes a guided tour and afternoon tea with Kelly’s home bakes. Often using many rose and lavender blooms from the edible flower garden in her cakes.
