2. Concepts of TFT and Basic course
What is TFT?
Designed to identify and nurture master trainers (from each HO) in the areas of hydrography and cartography
These master trainers undergo teaching courses to be more professional teachers
The master trainers then plan and conduct training courses in their own country delivering in their mother tongue
Progressively, this allows the pool of hydrographic experts to grow sustainably

The TFT is designed to develop trainers in the area of hydrography more effectively so that trainees of hydrographic
offices in the East Asian region can take IHO’s training programmes in their own country delivered in their mother tongue
and grow as hydrographic experts.

3. History
EAHC TRCD BOD agreed to implement TFT for the foundation course program of Carto and Hydro.
TFT for Cat C Carto course was taken in 2013 and 2014 successfully.
TFT for Cat. C Hydro course was taken in 2016
- 17 trainees from 10 EAHC MSs
- Training skills and EAHC common basic Hydroraphic course.
- instructors were self-provided by EAHC for the first time

4. 2nd TFT Plans
1. Hydro & Carto Basic training Course (For Korean) : Plans
Date : 4 ~ 15 December, 2017
Venue : KHOA (Busan)
Participants : 11 (1 for each MSs, Budget limited)
Lecturer : Fuzi bin Yusof RMN, Ahmad Rizuan Bin Hussin (Malaysia)
Contents : Syllabus Cat C, Theory of lecture, teaching skill
Managing the lesson, presentation etc.

5. Area of concerns EAHC’s TFT Capacity Building HOs, Industry TRDC
This year is the final course of TFT for EAHC MSs.
The curriculum & syllabus content of the TFT hydro course will be finalized in 2018 after the application of the curriculum from 2017 to 2018.
The final syllabus will be used for IHO TFT course from 2019
Encouraging TFT trainees to apply what they have learned in their HOs
need to prepare country activity report for 2018.
