Performance Measures 2016 and beyond

Headline measures 2016 onwards
The headline figures which will appear in the performance tables will be: Progress across 8 subjects Attainment across the same 8 subjects Initially this will be based on point scores from the current GCSE grades, with A* worth eight points through to G grade which is worth one point. English and maths – the percentage of students who achieve the threshold (currently a C, but from 2017 a 5 in both English (Lang or Lit) and maths. Percentage of students achieving the EBacc

Which subjects can be used?
Bucket 1 Bucket 2 Bucket 3 Maths + 1 from: English or English Literature Science x 2 History Geography MFL Computer Science Statistics Ethics (Y and X band only) Options 2 to count 3 to count

How it is calculated? Every student will have a Progress 8 target grade from Year 7 which is based on their KS2 Reading and Maths grades. If a student’s Progress 8 target grade is a 7, they will have to have eight 7’s to have a ‘0’ Value Added score. If they achieved eight 8’ s they would have a positive Value Added score. At the end of Year 11 the progress of the whole cohort will be measured to give us an Attainment grade and a Progress 8 figure e.g. Attainment: C- Progress: (-0.5 will trigger an inspection)

Changes from 2017 onwards From 2017 onwards KS2 English fine results will change as they will only take into account reading results and NOT writing. Points scores will change from 2017 100% exams More difficult exams with more content
