Gravitational Pull: The pull on the earth due to the sun, moon, and earth rotation on its axis which causes tides

The moon and the sun both have a gravitational pull on the earth, which pulls on the waters of the earth creating tides

High Tide: Where the water levels rises twice a day Low Tide: Where the water level falls twice a day Both are caused by the gravitational pull from the moon and earth’s rotation

Spring Tide: When the sun and the moon are both in line with the earth, they pull in the same direction, causing the greatest difference between high and low tides. Neap Tide: When the moon and the sun are at a 90 degree angle, they pull in different directions, causing the least amount of difference in high and low tides
