An adjective is a word or set of words that describes something.

That girl is PRETTY. Manchester United is GREAT. My students are GREAT! Ulrika is TALL. Zaynab is a SUPERB skier. All of the above DESCRIBE something!

Examples of Adverbs Dalko walked QUICKLY so that he could watch Arsenal. Walked = verb; adverb = quickly Wicktoria spoke QUIETLY so Matt could not hear what she was saying. Spoke = verb; adverb = quietly

Easy Examples The man was SLOW.
SLOW is an ADJECTIVE which describes the man. The adjective describes the noun. Kristian was walking SLOWLY. The word SLOWLY is an ADVERB. Walking is a VERB. The adverb describes the verb.

IMPORTANT! An ADJECTIVE describes a noun. An ADVERB describes a verb.
Usain Bolt is quick. Morgan ran quickly so that he would not be late. The VERB describes what Morgan was doing and the ADVERB describes how he did it.
