Children’s tReach What: Interdisciplinary campus group reaching out to Tulsa’s children through local schools and existing programs. Why: Educate, enhance, and engage children and their families. This bidirectional endeavor will also enhance OU-Tulsa students’ experience.

Our Plan Educate: Enhance: Engage:
Health education starting with elementary ages (nutrition, exercise, drug/smoking avoidance, “opt in” sex education) Enhance: Serve as role models for health & other professions Mentorship programs (educational & “just for fun”) Augment Summer Institute with children's panel Engage: Assess community needs Work with parents and siblings (bidirectional exchange) Involve volunteers from local undergraduate programs Work with & support existing community programs

Student run on volunteer basis = minimal cost Interdisciplinary = more members, more ideas, more momentum Wide appeal Establish a campus group = better funding, better presence on campus, better presence in community Expandability = rough & replicable Good for Community & Good for OU
