4 Computer Lab Rules Be Respectful - Use good manners at all times - Treat others as you wish to be treated - Leave your work space the way you found it Be Responsible - Show up on time - Stay on task - Always do your best work Be Resourceful - Bring your solution with your problem - Use materials before asking questions - Learn to ask for what you need

5 Daily Procedures Leave EVERYTHING except your flash drive, comp book, pencil & headphones in the cubbies. Get straight to work on keyboarding! Bathroom BREAKS on request Hall pass is required to leave the room I will dismiss, NOT THE BELL

6 Computer Keyboarding and Applications
Curriculum Computer Keyboarding & Applications is an 18 week course of study that will give students a solid understanding of keyboarding techniques as well as a basic understanding of Google Apps.

7 Introduction to Keyboarding
Touch Typing -Daily learning & practice -Goal is 40 wpm with 90% accuracy

11 Emergency Procedures Fire alarm (or drill)
Severe weather alert (or drill) Lockdown Emergency procedures are designed to KEEP YOU SAFE in the event of an emergency while you are in school. Horseplay, unnecessary chatter, or any failure to follow instructions/procedures during an emergency may result in injury to you or your classmates. You are expected to conduct yourselves during drills in EXACTLY the same manner as if the emergency were real.

12 Fire Alarm (or Drill) DO NOT RUN.
Exit through the BACK doors in an orderly fashion. Walk calmly to our assembly area – across the lawn to the corner of the lawn & parking lot. Remain standing and quiet Listen & respond to the roll call Stay in place and follow instructions.

13 Severe Weather (or Drill)
DO NOT RUN. Proceed in an orderly fashion to the entry hallway of the lab. Sit with your back against the wall, legs crossed (“Indian style” or knees pulled up to chest). Put your head down and cover your head with your arms. Remain quiet for further instructions.

14 Lockdown IMMEDIATE SILENCE! Person NEAREST hallway door, RUN and lock the deadbolt. All others go quickly and quietly to the OFFICE Sit on the floor and remain SILENT for further instructions. DO NOT RESPOND to any sounds outside the office, class, or building. Lockdowns may be conducted for drill, actual threats, and/or for police searches.
