ANSWER!! ‘Environmental effects must be considered by the planning authority and planning permission must be gained before quarrying can start. The planning authority may insist the quarrying company cleans up and restores the quarry after it closes! Restrictions on working hours and transport route choice may be imposed to reduce the effects of noise on the locals.’
