Fresh Access Bucks In 2015, Florida Organic Growers (FOG) received the USDA Food Insecurity and Nutrition Incentive (FINI) grant FINI grant funds: Florida’s statewide nutrition incentive program doubling SNAP dollars – Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) SNAP-Ed at markets accepting FAB

SNAP-Ed and FAB The Family Nutrition Program (FNP), SNAP-Ed in Florida, provides cooking demonstrations highlighting seasonal produce Goal: To increase awareness of the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and familiarize participants' with local and seasonal produce available at markets in Florida.

SNAP-Ed and FAB FNP uses Cooking Matter in Your Community
Provides 20 minute nutrition lesson with a food tasting Utilizes produce sold at the market and in season

SNAP-Ed and FAB FOG’s Role
Administer Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) with farmers market partners Provide contact information for FAB partner markets to SNAP-Ed programs in applicable counties Assist with the outreach and advertising for the cooking demos through press releases and social media Report project outcomes and impacts of FINI grant

MT8: Agriculture MT8a-1: Total number of farmers markets that accept SNAP benefits per 10,000 SNAP recipients MT8b: Number of farmers markets that offer SNAP- bonus incentive programs MT8e: Estimated number of people in the target population who have increased access to or benefit from the agricultural policy or intervention LT14: Agriculture Sales and Incentives LT14e: Total dollar value of incentives redeemed by SNAP participants for purchase of targeted food items at farmers markets during the period assessed

27,865 transactions doubling SNAP dollars 9,580 new shoppers Over $834,000 in produce purchases 596 farmers selling produce

Future FOG FINI grant concludes in September 2018
Feeding Florida, the Florida network of food banks, has applied for the next round of FINI grants FNP has committed to continue to provide food demonstrations at the FAB markets if funded
