The process Began conducting research into our placement processes in Spring 2015 Presented results along and MMAP studies to department Found and worked with allies Invited MMAP researcher, Dr. Hetts in November Implemented modified MMAP rules 11/25/2015

Spreading the Word Information on new policy was put on the website
Students were given information in person when they came to the testing center Students were told at outreach events (ambassadors) Engaged Faculty Flex workshops for Faculty conducted by testing center director and researcher

Implementation-Version 1
All students with CA HSGPA from last 10 years Exemption model Students complete questionnaire in testing center If they do not meet the GPA + course grade threshold, they are routed to COMPASS (ESL or English) Verified GPA and course grade with transcript (moving away from this model) Unofficial placement results were given immediately until HS transcripts were received Moving towards utilizing CCCApply questions - implementing COMMGEN Moving towards importing CALPass + data

ENGLISH Decision Rules and Implementation-Version 1
New Model Old Model Assessment office prescreens students with a questionnaire which directs to the following assessment options: Exempt from eCOMPASS and eligible for Transfer English Directed to eCOMPASS Directed to ESL assessment If the following criteria are met students are exempt from taking eCOMPASS and recommended for Transfer English 3.0 overall HSGPA + 3 yrs Eng. (CA only) OR 2.5 overall HSGPA + B in Eng. (CA only) All students are directed to eCOMPASS English or ESL exam eCOMPASS assessment completed High School GPA and grade in last English course utilized as supplemental measure
