Read the following description of a famous world landmark and see if you can guess what it is. Label it “Landmark.” This landmark was built to keep northern nomads out of the country. Work on it began around 200 BC. Laborers were forced to work on it; many died. By the time it was finished, centuries after it was begun, it was about 4,000 miles long. Parts of it were as much as 30 feet wide. Some people think (though this is a myth) that it is the only human-made object visible from space. What is it?
