formula Acceleration depends on the object’s mass and on the net force acting on the object. This relationship can be written as an equation. Acceleration= Net Force/Mass

Acceleration -If you are pushing equally on two objects and one of the objects has five times more mass than the other, it will accelerate at 1/5 the acceleration of the other. -This acceleration is inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

QUestions Jim’s car ran out of gas and so did Daniels. Daniel pushes his car with twice the force than Jim. Will it accelerate twice as much? Why or why not? What is Newton’s formula for acceleration?

ANSWERS Yes, the more force you put on an object the more it will accelerate. A=netforce/mass
