2 Overview Objectives, What is a gallery walk, Sections of Learning Station, Group Norms

3 Objective Showcase knowledge of topic through creating a mini learning station that includes a learning section and a learning manipulative.

4 What is a Gallery Walk? Our gallery walk will give students an opportunity to explore the different aspects of the learning process: Expert: Students will become experts of their sections to create learning section and manipulatives. Gaining Knowledge: We will use our learning section to gain information. Check For Understanding: We will use the learning manipulative to review the students knowledge. Assessment: After the completing the gallery walks students will take an assessment over the section studied. Gallery Walk will be used as a tool to gain a deeper understanding of a topic.

5 Sections of Learning Station
Learning Manipulative Students will create a section of their gallery walk to teach students the information. This can be a brochure, a picture collage, educational video, powerpoint, flyer, etc.. Be creative how would you like to learn information Students will create a section of their gallery walk to check the students understanding. Game, question and answer, matching, fill-in-the-blank, etc.. Find an interesting way to check students knowledge gained.

6 Group Norms Get along. No Arguing! Work together. Respect others
Listen. No put downs. On task behavior. What should you be doing? Use quiet voices. Only your group should hear you. Participate Do your part. Do not be lazy. Stay in your group. Stay where you are. No moving!

7 Learning Section Time to create your learning station

8 Divide and conquer… Each member is required to contribute to this section. Select a leader for group. Leader should ensure all members are doing their part. One student can research online, one student can gather information from book, one student can create template for information, etc. Students can use textbook for information and research the internet for additional details. (BE SURE TO GIVE CREDIT TO ALL SOURCES AT THE END WITH CITATIONS.) Assignment should be showcased to instructor for approval and additional suggestions for the learning section to be successful for peer leaders to gain information.

9 Manipulative section Ready for some fun?

10 Fun time!!!!!! Each member is required to contribute to this section. Group leaders will assign parts for members. Here you have the opportunity to check for understanding in a way that is fun and exciting. Think of how you learn best and what ways you would like to be quizzed over information.

11 Showtime Ready for the gallery walk…….

12 Now its time to showcase your learning station.
Each group will setup their learning station. Make sure all information and instructions are clearly stated. At each station you will 1. Review the learning section. 2. Complete the manipulative section. 3. Rate the group’s learning station.
