The first plane was invented by the Wright Brothers on December 17, 1903. After a lot of experimenting over planes, Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright became the first inventors to fly a plane with a person in it. The plane flew for almost one hundred and twenty feet in twelve seconds. Their plane was named as Flyer attached with two wings on either side. The wings were made out of wood and were 40 feet wide. Rocket planes aside, the SR-71 Blackbird holds the current record speed of 2,242 mph!
