Abstract Photography The following photographs are examples of Abstract Photography. In this assignment, I’d like you to think more about line, shape, composition, texture, space, contrast and light. Compose an interesting image of forms, light and dark, large and small, contrasting shapes, textures - rough against smooth, soft against hard. Look for lines against a background. Do not take photos of specific objects as subjects, but as compositions. Your photograph could be the space between two buildings, the shadows cast on a warped wall, or a point of view that no one recognizes. You can also consider photographing only part of the subject, rather than the whole.

What is abstract art? Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Art that does not attempt to represent external, recognizable reality but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, texture etc
