1. EFFICIENCY FIRST | COOLING FOR ALL
Intersect between multiple agendas and SDGs If the lowest levels of wastage achieved in any region at each stage of supply chain were replicated, food wastage would be reduced 50%, enough to feed 1 billion Heat extreme impacts are most severe for the elderly, women, and the poor – society’s most vulnerable groups 50% of freeze dried and 25% of liquid vaccines wasted per year – cold chain breakdowns a significant cause (WHO) Heat extremes threaten large economic losses as temperature limits productivity 2.5 billion expected to join world’s urban population by 2050 – mainly in Asia and Africa Cooling is no longer seen as a comfort issue it is a key focus area for all countries.

UGANDA: $511 M Only 1% of tracked finance commitments in (approximately $11.6 billion) went to decentralized renewable energy solutions, such as household solar systems and mini-grid systems, which hold great promise to deliver basic electricity more quickly and affordably to hard-to-reach rural populations. Decentralized, $4 M Sources: SEforALL (2017), Energizing Finance Report Series, Understanding the Landscape - Tracking Finance for Electricity and Clean Cooking Access in HICs.
