Quick Review This week: lessons could be – for you – overwhelming and possibly intimidating. One of the reasons for hitting hard on evangelism in light of our spiritual growth is to point out that we – even as Christians – are weak… and that’s okay.
3
Most of us feel inadequate
“I don’t know what to say” “I don’t know God’s word well enough” “I don’t know how to relate” Etc. Etc. Etc.
4
Weakness is good Such is NOT the mindset of the world.
This world praises the strengths/talents of man. This mindset, however, brings glory to man and not God, to Whom all glory belongs! But through our own weakness God is glorified. cp. 2 Cor. 12:10-12; Eph. 3:8-12
5
God Glorified Through Man’s Weaknesses
The timing in which God chose to lead Israel out of Egypt. Exo. 14:11-14 Why God chose Gideon. Jdgs. 6:11-16; 7:1-2, 12… 8:10 Moses. Exo. 3-4 David. 1 Sam. 16:1ff, vs. 6-7 Etc. God makes it clear whom He chose and why: Jas. 2:5; 1 Cor. 1:26-31
6
He uses the unlikely to share His message of salvation
The “foolish” according to the world. 1 Cor. 1:21 Fishermen (Lk. 5:10, 27) tax-collector () the humbled (Acts 2:7) He blesses the humble and meek recipients to come into and flourish in His kingdom. cp. Matt. 5:2-12

Man’s Faith is Strengthened through His Own Weaknesses
Faith, courage and abiding trust in the Lord to provide are absolutely necessary for God to be glorified. But, our faith is not in us but in Him; our courage is not from ourselves but from Him; our trust is that provides the means by which our faith and courage in Him will glorify Him.
8
Our faith increases in God when we see His grace working through our weaknesses. 2 Corinthians 12:10 So, Rejoice in the Lord and His strength and trust in Him to do all unto His glory
