GEHENNA – Appears 12 times in the N.T., all but once on the lips of Jesus. It literally means the valley of Ben Hinnom, which is an actual valley south of Jerusalem associated with child sacrifice.
TARTARUS – Appears only once in the N.T. (2nd Peter 2:4). It means (waiting place).
What about “Sheol” and “Hades” = Death or the realm of the dead.
