Why was is absolutely necessary for Jesus Christ to die on a Roman cross? Paul summed up his life by the cross – Galatians 2:20 This is a focus that we must have to be a worker for God When we have our hearts filled with this message we will have a life full of meaning – Galatians 6:14,15

Salvation Is From The Wrath Of God
What is salvation? σωτηρία sōtēria; deliverance, preservation, safety, …deliverance from the molestation of enemies… in an ethical sense, that which concludes to the souls safety or salvation Must have a object – saved from Hell Moses spoke of salvation at the Red Sea – Exodus 14:13

Matthew 25:46 Titus 1:1,2 We must find an escape from God wrath – Romans 11:22 Why is the GOSPEL – GOOD NEWS? Romans 1:16-18 If we fail to see God’s wrath we cannot see His grace? Can YOU See?

Satan Has Caused Man to Curse Himself Through Knowledge of Nature of God
God must punish every sin ever committed- Romans 3:23; 6:23 God’s wrath is constant – it does not change like man’s wrath Not a child of God – you are a child of wrath – Ephesians 2:3 Satan uses this knowledge to have men sin and curse themselves What hope do you have if you die in your sins? John 8:24

Jesus Taught Often About Hell And Its Terrible Consequences
Wicked Conscious Existence for Eternity – Mark 9:43-47 Hell – Greek “Gehenna” Could not mean simply dying – something worse! Jesus warned men not to go to hell – Matthew 5:22, 29,30; 10:28 He knew most men will walk path to destruction – Matthew 7:13,14 Jesus grieved over those who rejected Him – Matthew 23:37-39

It is TORMENT – Luke 16:28; Revelation 14:11 Weeping and Wailing in hell – Matthew 13:40-42, 49,50 It involves Eternal Fire – Matthew 5:32; 18:9; Mark 9:43,45,47 Even in place before hell there is a flame – Luke 16:24

It involves eternal darkness – 2 Peter 2:4,17; Matthew 8:11,12; 22:13,14; 25:30 There is no escape from hell – Luke 16:26 Described as being in chains – 2 Peter 2:4 A place of regret – Luke 16:27,28 It is a place of unspeakable wickedness – Matthew 25:41

The burden of Jesus at start of His prayers – Matthew 26:37; Mark 14:33 “deeply distressed” – be depressed or dejected, full of anguish or sorrow… full of heaviness, be very heavy.. Strongest of three Greek words in the NT for depression.” Agony of the garden – Matthew 26:39 Wanted cup to pass from Him – Matthew 26:39

Note intensity of suffering- Hebrews 5:7-9 Between 2nd and last prayer angels comfort Him- Luke 22:43,44 Jesus is now ready – Mark 14:41,42 WHY did He accept the cup? It was the only way to save you and me from HELL!

Matthew 7: "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
