5 Great Reasons to Get excited for ACADEMY INSTRUCTION! Teams of amazing teachers work with our students to ensure rigor, relevance, and relationships through our academies focusing on STEAM, AVID, and Gifted education. CLUBS AND COMPETITION WINNERS! Odyssey of the Mind, National History Day, Mighty Mu, Science Olympiad, Math Counts, Math Moves You, Stock Market Challenge, Future Cities, International Day, Essay Contests, Art exhibitions, Girlfriends, 5000 Role Models and more! TEAM SPORTS! Volleyball, Basketball, Track and Intramural Sports! ARTS! Programs dedicated to the fine arts and music! Highlights include visual art, chorus, orchestra, highland dance, and our award winning pipe band! TECH! Smart Classrooms: Smart Boards, Smart Response Systems, Video Recording Technology, iPads & Computer Labs! Students earn enrolled in Microsoft Office Specialist certification earn at least one area of specialization or more!

School Hours & Schedule
School Hours: 9:30am – 4:00pm Breakfast begins at 9:05am 7 Period Day The seven periods includes: 4 Required Courses (Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies (1) of each). 1-2 elective courses (a ½ Semester of PE and Health is required) 1 Reading class is required for all 6th graders *Reading class and/or Math Intervention is provided to students who are below the proficiency level as measured by the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). 30 minutes of lunch daily 4 minutes of passing time between classes

Tables, Tours, and More! 1 1 1 Please check the corner of your paper for your STAR group. Your number will allow you to follow our student ambassadors throughout the campus and to our table session in the Gym. Tables will showcase content areas, clubs, and other student services. Students who accepted a seat at the Center for Gifted Studies are invited to remain here is Highlander Hall for a Q&A session with the 6th Grade Team or proceed to the gym for the table showcase.
