Climate / Terrain Israel is divided into 3 regions:
1. Coastal Plain: Soil is fertile and has several water sources 2. Mountain: Rocky ground with Mediterranean climate and rainy 3. Jordan Valley: Seismic activity, home to the Jordan River (largest river), and Dead sea (the lowest point on Earth) Climate- subtropical a hot dry summer and cold semi-wet winter

Israel was under British Rule In 1939, mass immigrants immigrated to Israel from Europe, due to the Holocaust 1947, UN proposes the establishment of a land to the Arabs and Jews

May 14, 1948 & ends British rule 1989, mass immigration of Jews from former Soviet Union 1991 Gulf War: War between Iraq and Iran. Israel was not involved in the war, but Saddam Hussein (Iraq) did threatened Israel not to aid Iran.

Fun facts about Israel If you invite a friend in Israel to go out to the movies/theatre it means you are voluntarily going to pay for them Really BIG on conserving water High on security, even at the bus station!!! Military service is mandatory when they graduate high school Saturday is consider rest day (due to the Jews) Israelis love talking to strangers! (weird…)
