Chimney sweep Young boy wanted aged 5 to sweep chimneys, must not be scared of tight places, if you get stuck I sometimes light fires to get you moving.

Coal drawers wanted. Strong boys and girls wanted to work down the mine as a coal drawer. You will have a belt around your waist with a heavy chain to pull the very heavy carts of coal back to the surface, you will work from 6am to 6pm crawling on your hands and knees in very wet conditions 6 days a week with Sunday off for church.

Textile mill worker Boys and girls wanted to work on the mill machines, start at 5am finish at 9pm 6 days a week with Sundays off for church. Will be cleaning machines while they are still running, you may lose fingers or hands in the machines or even get killed.

Factory worker Young children wanted to dip matches in a dangerous chemical. Side effects include rotten teeth and death by inhaling poisonous fumes. 5am to 9pm 6 days a week Sundays off for church.

Coal miners wanted Children from the age of 5 wanted to work the coal mines. 12 hours a day with only bread and butter for lunch no drinks. Candles for light must be paid for from any wages you get.

Trappers wanted Young boys and girls to work down the mines, pitch black for 12 hours a day. Your job will include opening and closing the air doors to provide ventilation for the miners. Risks include being run over or crushed and killed by the coal carts, also explosions and dangerous gasses. You will only see daylight on a Sunday when you have a day off to go to church.
