Chairman’s Report – Plan for 2007/8 Plan to Transform to an Industry Peak Body Outline Points: Plan to transform SIAA from a volunteer organisation focussed only on simulation into a true peak industry body for Simulation & Training Broaden the appeal of SIAA to attract individual members in the masses Strategic Alliances with other peak bodies such as ASIBA Develop capability to manage Government and other externally provided funding projects

Drive current Projects: Professional Development Healthcare Simulation Society Launch new Projects: Strategic Plan for Transformation National Security Mining and Construction More Project focus for SimTecT - eg Aerospace Training for SimTecT 08 Bolster / strengthen the Exhibition Increase interest levels for Defence stakeholders from CDG and DMO Will not compromise the broad technical focus of the conference 18

That the New Constitution accompanying the notice of meeting dated 29 August 2007 be adopted as the Constitution of SIAA in substitution for the existing Constitution. Moved: Peter Hill Seconded: Peter Cantwell Background To formalise the operation of a semi-autonomous group, under the auspices of the SIAA – a “Chapter” Define high-level responsibilities Details in the Chapter’s Terms of Reference Allow for the Chapter to spin-off from the SIAA
