1 Establishing a true circular economy in the European Union responds to key policy challenges such as the creation of jobs and growth, improving the global competiveness of our companies, securing our material supply, reaching the goal of 20% reindustrialisation of the European economy and protecting our climate and biodiversity.

2 Content of the presentation
Why NewInno_Net Our goal and objectives The consortium Our activities Place, Event name

3 decouple economic growth from resource constraints
Why NewInno-Net? Total demand for constrained resource stocks is expected to reach 130 billion tons by That means if we continue using the Earth’s resources at the current rate of increase we will need 3 planets Challenge decouple economic growth from resource constraints Here is where circular economy comes into play

4 Circular economy is about:
Why NewInno-Net? Circular economy is about: keeping resources at their highest possible level of value at all times eliminating the very idea of waste leaving ”enough for all forever”

5 NewInno-Net and circular economy
FROM LINEAR MODEL TO CIRCULAR MODEL NewInno_Net contributes to rethinking the way the production and consumption patterns are organised today Place, Event name

6 What is needed for the transition from linear to circular model:
Why NewInno-Net? What is needed for the transition from linear to circular model: improved cooperation and reduced conflicts of interest between different value chain players in several sectors sector-by-sector pathways on how stakeholders along the value chain can work together promising business models and best practices to identify economic opportunities and potential for targeted innovations Improved knowledge of costs and performances along value chains, informing a pricing policy for waste management in line with the waste hierarchy

7 Why NewInno-Net? 0202 Call elements
Insufficient cooperation between different value chain players in several raw materials sectors results in lower recycling rates or suboptimal use of raw materials from an environmental and socio-economic point of view Creation of a stakeholder platform for defining an integrated strategic research and innovation agenda Roadmaps addressing specific waste streams Proposals should help foster synergies between relevant stakeholders and value chains while identifying new market opportunities Significant improvement in the knowledge of costs and performances along value chains, informing a pricing policy for waste management in line with the waste hierarchy

11 More concretely, the NEW_InnoNet project has four specific objectives:
Introduction NEW_InnoNet’s main objective is to mobilise stakeholders towards building a circular economy by developing and reinforcing solid foundations for building the European Near-Zero Waste Platform. More concretely, the NEW_InnoNet project has four specific objectives: Set-up and maintain near zero waste stakeholder platform Analyse selected waste streams and develop innovation roadmaps per waste stream Develop an integrated near zero waste strategic research and innovation agenda Stakeholder mobilisation and interaction

Decisions in the Project Management Team shall be taken by a majority of two-thirds (2/3) of the votes cast.

15 Project Symposium (PNO Inno): first stakeholder event
Work in Progress (WP1) Project Symposium (PNO Inno): first stakeholder event Will be combined with the PRS fair in Brussels, which is organised by Plastics Recyclers Europe – End November (25/26) Current program ideas: Plenary sessions – project introduction Workshops/ project building sessions Key stakeholder meetings

16 Bottleneck Analysis (VTT)
Work in Progress (WP2) Bottleneck Analysis (VTT) Methodology (Multi Criteria Analysis) developed and described Value streams are being defined and described by VTT and the experts from the various value streams Expert workhops per value stream are being organised (in Amsterdam) Results expected by December
