3. A few things about our school
Our school is the 3rd junior high school in Trikala. The yard houses the 9th junior high school as well. In 1937, only girls were allowed to go to it. Until 1945, there were five teachers working on it, and 438 girls were going to our school, while in 1964, 62 professors were working on it. In 1979, boys’ attending it was permitted.

Today, our school is a modern building with many facilities. It has changed a lot since the last century, both at its appearance and how it works. Today, 23 teachers work on it and the 265 students are divided in 10 classes. There are three classes for students of the 1st grade, three for those going at the 2nd grade an four for students going to the 3rd grade of the high school.

6. Structure
Our school has two floors. On the ground floor, there are the art class, where the arts lessons are taking place, the toilettes and four classrooms. On the first floor, there are the chemistry lab, the teachers’ office, he secretary, the multible class, the headmaster’s room an some classrooms, as well. Finally, on the third floor there the German class, where students study German, and the more classrooms.

10. Our yard
Our school has a large yard where students spend their breaks playing, relaxing, tacking to each other, eating etc… The atmosphere in the school yard is very friendly and students enjoy spending time there. There is also a canteen from where students and teachers can buy a snack. At the left side of the yard there is a space with plants that enhances the yard’s appearance and ecological aspect.

12. School activities
Children have the chance to attend some activities, each of whom is connected with a subject. Through these activities, students learn how to cooperate and broaden their knowledge as well. Moreover, we go to some school trips and visit new places.

13. Educational Programs
Many of our school’s programs are about our town’s history and sights, different ways of learning, the environment, health and others.
Our school also has a website which was created by the headmaster. In the website, where students post their school work and the headmaster makes announcements.

14. Athletic games are organized every year in the school yard for all the students. They promote physical activity and encourage students to exercise

15. Students can join the school choir or recite poems at school celebrations
