Periods of Projects The period of the project where ranged from 3 to 6 months as a short term project. Recently the period is prolonged to 12 months and some projects for 3 years for example: The psychosocial support in Naher el Bared Christian Aid fuel distribution in Beqaa Oxfam protection project in Ein el Helweh and Baddawi were all prolonged to 12 months
15
Periods of Projects And recently with HEKS for the Unconditional and Cash for Work the project has been ongoing for 3 years. Beneficiaries were having monthly income to cover their basic needs, (shelter, food, clothing’s, and medicines) Same goes for DCA ‘Food Vouchers’ and Psychosocial. Beneficiaries reduce mal nutrition; families secured their basic needs through food vouchers. The projects facilitate Palestinian Refugees from Syria access to additional support for essential life-saving needs. The response will cover economic, market and livelihood issues of PRS. The projects saved lives through the provision of food vouchers, vocational training, unconditional cash, fuel distributions, clothing’s, School Kits, Cleaning Kits, Diesel Voucher and Heater, Protection, Baby Kits and winterization. And that also creates substantial economic benefits to the Palestinian camp’s economy. The Emergency work was done through the help of the Palestinian Refugees from Syria staff after being trained. Each project consists of 2 to 4 volunteers and a coordinator who was responsible for the implementation and was followed up by the branch staff.

Empowerment My name is Mohammad Omar, I am 25 years old, I came to Lebanon with my family because of the war that took place in Syria, and after we arrived I could not cope with the community and all my desire was to return to Syria. My parents tried to help me in coping with the local community and I was offered a job in entrepreneurship (concrete) I couldn’t work in this domain because of my injury, I had a back injury from the war in Syria. And I began to look for another job and at that time I went to Association Najdeh with my mother to receive the assistance that they submit from HEKS at the time, I got to know their programs and vocational training courses so I registered in Photography and Editing course. I was offered by the coordinator a position as a volunteer in the education program until the photography and editing course starts, and this was the beginning of my volunteering in the AN and when I volunteered in education and strengthening program I gained their love and trust and when the emergency project began (cash for work) I helped the project coordinator in the project I followed-up the workers and it was a full time work for me of activities and workshops awareness, After the project was over I volunteered in violence against woman program and I started attending workshops of (violence – discrimination – conflict sensitivity – e.t.c) and then I moved on to another project, I gained a lot of experience in dealing with the local community and on a personal level I gained experience in dealing with my family members and the ability to control my temper and I began to appreciate the role of my mother, my point of view changed about women and how important they are in the society.
