NCAA Eligibility Center
What’s the point? Registration Process Register Initial transcript Test scores Final transcript POINT- means to certify academic and amateur status of college bound athletes for Div I and II REGISTRATION- NCAA recommends by soph year but save $70; will need personal info, courses you have taken and info about your sport(s). Remember to communicate with your guidance counselor as they do not get auto generated s from EC requesting transcripts. Final certification is only performed on students that are on an Institution’s request list. DIV III-sets own admissions standards per school NAIA- playNAIA.org to register WAIVER- must qualify for ACT/SAT waiver to get NCAA EC registration fee waiver (F/R lunch) 3

9th Grade Plan Start planning by working hard to earn best grades possible Make sure you take NCAA-approved core courses Approved core - No E2020 academic courses. All Carroll County except College Readiness Math. 4

10th Grade Plan Register at eligibilitycenter.org
If you fall behind on courses, do not take shortcuts. See your counselor to find NCAA approved courses to catch up. 5

11th Grade Plan Make sure you are on track to graduate on time.
Register for the SAT, ACT, or both. Use the NCAA Eligibility Center code “9999” to send scores to NCAA. They do not accept scores from your high school. Don’t forget to STUDY for the test. 6

12th Grade Plan Take the ACT or SAT again, if necessary, and send scores to NCAA by using code “9999”. Ask your counselor to send your Final Transcript to NCAA. 7

Division I Division II Graduate 16 core courses, 10 “locked in” before 7th semester (7 of 10 must be English, math, or science) Sliding scale of GPA (2.3 for competition) vs test score Graduate 16 core courses Current: 2.0 GPA & SAT min 820 or ACT sum 68 Changes in 2018 to sliding scale DOES NOT = ADMISSION TO SCHOOL! SAT/ACT Take both as early as possible PSAT: October of Sophomore year
Use KhanAcademy.org or USATestPrep to study for test Fee Waivers (for 11th & 12th on F/R) Use Code when you register to test NCAA: 9999 NAIA: 9876 NCAA will use best scores from each section; SAT-use only the critical reading and math WRITING SECTION NOT USED ACT-sum of Eng, math, reading and science Fee waviers-from counselor 1 waiver for each test per year Code: will save you approx $12 per test per times sent; counselors cannot report scores. 11
