To develop knowledge on the difference between short and long term goals To understand why we need to log down the information learned and use it effectively when making future goals and targets. Learning intentions

3 Benefits of target setting
It is important to set goals as they help motivate and give targets to aim for. Small training goals can give a performer a little push on the way to achieving their ultimate long-term goal. Increase in motivation and determination, as long as goals are realistic and attainable Reinforces desire to keep working Provides a performance focus Provides valuable feedback Benefits of target setting

5 These goals tend to change or evolve on a regular basis and will reflect the immediate improvements in a performance. They should provide stepping stones that will help a performer achieve their long-term goal. For example, a badminton player may set themselves short-term goals to: complete smash 10x 2min and movement drills in their next training session beat their training partner by five points in each set next week Improve a certain aspect of their game.
