End of year activities for post-EOG

The EOG review will serve as a menu of different ways to review for EOGs, with a focus on creative ways to use the released items.
The Post-EOG unit is an investigative study that reviews key concepts from the current year in preparation for “big ideas” of the next year.

You will see there are 44 items on the EOG in grades 3-5.
Half of the items are calculator active and inactive. Most of the items in the calculator “active” section will not require the use of the calculator.
Then, the test is broken down into percentages based on the mathematical domains at that grade level.
The % correct is indicated for each grade level.

Due to inclement weather, teachers are in a position to make some tough instructional decisions about pacing. Let’s explore some ways that we can support them in this decision-making process.

19. Questions to Consider Where are the teachers RIGHT now?
How many instructional days are left?
Where will days be cut?
Where should the focus be for review & remediation?
Have grade levels discuss these questions in PLTs.
These conversations can happen K-5. In grades K-2, teachers can use the major work of the grade (posted on Principals’ wiki) to explore major areas versus supporting areas. This will help them identify content on which to focus more heavily. In grades 3-5, teachers can also use the major work of the grade document, but should focus in heavily on the EOG goal summaries.
