2 The sign Alos – another of the same kind
In other words like the others in magnitude and impressiveness Has a sense of foreboding as well as being marvellous Both apply here because For the righteous, God is about to bring judgement against evil The evil that brought martyrdom to many The prayers of the saints from under the altar are about to be answered For the unrighteous, their end is nigh The seven last plagues complete the outpouring of God’s wrath This begins an eternity of torment Fiery judgement

3 The sea of glass Glass mingled with fire Harps of God
Rev 4 v 6 – a sea of glass like crystal An expanse – possibly a pavement Vast, as all those who had victory over the beast were standing on it Glass and crystal speak of the brilliance of it Fire could speak of the time they are in – one of judgement Also could be a reference to the blood – the key to judgement and salvation Harps of God Worship and adulation despite the horrors of judgement

4 The songs The song of Moses Exodus 15 v 1 – 21
Sung as they emerged from the Red Sea Judgement had fallen on the unrighteous God’s people unaffected Motivated by the magnificent intervention of God to save He has become my salvation There is a blasphemous parody of these words in Rev 13 v 4 and following Extols the uniqueness of God Indicates God is to be revered and feared Could also be the song from Deuteronomy 31 and 32 Chapter 31 v 1-8 tells us all nations will be subjugated to God

5 The servant of God and song of the lamb
Deuteronomy 34 v 5 Moses is identified as the Servant of God Revelation 5 v 9 – 14 – song of the lamb The law was given by Moses and grace and truth came through Jesus Christ They began by praising the magnificence of His works They elevated Him as the King of the Saints They stated that all Nations would worship Him That this would be because Hid judgements were made manifest
