What Are The Dangers? Content-Sexual, racist, violent, unreliable/bigoted, etc. Commerce-Scams, Fishing, programs that steal personal information Contact-IM, Chat, Multiplayer games, Facebook, Social Media Culture-Cyberbullying

Adults And Kids Use The Internet In Increasingly Different Ways
Mostly , research, shopping and banking. Interactive chat, gaming, music, social media. We need to be involved in our kids’ online activities, validate their skills and learn from them.

Advice For Teachers/Parents
Be Involved-Know what your kids are doing online and where they are going. Ask them to teach you how to use any applications you don’t already know how to use. Keep the computer in a part of your home that is accessible and can be seen by all. Teach them how to protect their online reputations.

More Advice For Parents
Help kids understand they should never give personal information to online friends: Addresses Phone Numbers Physical Addresses Teach them to be able to identify spam and junk and texts and to never reply to send any information to them or even click on them.

Most Importantly… Never post, say or do anything you wouldn’t do in the middle of the mall.
