3 At Concordia, you have 2 places where you can search for books

4 1- Discovery Search A search tool which allows you to search for books, ebooks, articles, and more in the Library Catalogue and many of our databases. 2- Library Catalogue A search tool that allows you to search for ebooks, print books, and other material at Concordia Library. It is a better tool than the Discovery Search for doing more precise searching such as by subject or call number.

6 For the Discovery Search, a simple keyword search works best

7 Library Catalogue For the Library Catalogue, search strategies like truncation(*) and search operators (AND) are recommended

In the Discovery Search and Library Catalogue, clicking on any book title will give you more information about the book, such as a table of contents

16 The book record will also include a Subject Heading field, which includes tags that describe what the book is about

17 In the Library Catalogue, you can find books on the same topic by clicking on the subject headings

18 Searching with subject headings in the Library Catalogue may retrieve books that are more focused on your topic than using just a keyword search Library Catalogue

19 Note that the subject heading feature does not work in the Discovery Search
