Ethiopian Resistance Sucessfully played Italians, British, and French against each other While Europeans were fighting over who would have the land, Menelik II stocked up on modern weapons bought from Russians and Italians Once Italians claimed control over Ethiopia, Menelik II declares war. Successfully defeats Italians, maintained independence
