A system of government in which power is divided between the National (federal) government and the state governments. What does the term Republicanism mean? A system of government in which people exercise their power by voting

2 “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion” Republicanism

3 “The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” Checks and Balances

4 “We the people of the United States […] do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Popular Sovereignty

5 “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Limited Government

6 “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Federalism
