Jesus declared, “Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.”

3. When Christians gather together to worship their Lord it should be exciting—it’s a celebration (where 2 things happen):

Telling a Christian not to worship is like telling a bird not to sing, or a fish not to swim, or the wind not to blow

5. 1. The Father desires it
John 4:24 “…they are the kind of worshipers the Father
seeks.”
I Tim 2:8 “I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands
in prayer…”
God is honored. He is pleased when we offer Him heartfelt worship.

6. 2. The Father deserves it Ps 29:1-2 “Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty
ones, ascribe to the Lord the glory and
strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory
due his name; worship the Lord in the
splendor of holiness.”
Ps 100:1-5
When we understand who He is—
we will naturally praise Him!

7. The Father demands it
Deuteronomy 6:3 and Luke 4:8: “It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.”
New Testament Christians gathered together on the
first day of each week in worship assemblies.
Hebrews 10:24-25 “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

9. Meaningful, heartfelt worship is connected to victory and to evangelism
This is an important time to build each other up.

DESIGNED TO:
1. Praise God
2. Build people up
We are to have a warm, loving, uplifting
worship experience that praises God and
blesses people.
